Just how are essential are essential oils to home cleaning? Well if you like your house smelling like a fresh bouquet of flowers, herbs, citrus grove, or anything else nature-oriented, then look no further. But what are essential oils? Well, technically speaking, it’s a concentrated hydrophobic (doesn’t mix well with water) liquid that contains aroma compounds from plants. It is “essential” because it carries the ‘essence of the plant’. It is extracted through distillation or solvent extraction. However, science aside, essential oils [EOs] have been used throughout history for cooking, medicine, and aromatherapy.
