Election Day is almost here, and Bounce wants to remind everyone to get out and vote. Also, in case you missed the onslaught of ads, billboards, emails, tweets… we wanted to highlight each candidate’s "green" initiatives to stress an issue we value as a company.
- Innovation, Houston Style: She will lead the city’s effort to bring millions of dollars for energy research and collaboration to Houston that will build on existing business capacity and attract and expand high-tech, new energy companies.
- Creating “New Energy” Partnerships: Establish a public policy and incentives to secure Houston’s leadership in forms of renewable and clean energy.
- Prioritizing the Success of the UH Energy Initiative: The University of Houston’s UH Energy is a promising initiative with research goals that will include a focus on how to convert basic science into commercial products and help businesses capitalize on new technologies.
- Continue the charge for cleaner air by giving Houstonians more transit options and cracking down on illegal polluters.
- Reduce waste by expanding Houston's recycling program to more neighborhoods.
- Encourage more parks and green spaces, which make the city more attractive, livable, and will help combat flooding.
- Expand the city’s commitment to clean, renewable energy by continuing to increase the share of the City’s energy consumption that comes from renewable sources.
- Green infrastructure: Incorporating an environmental ethic into fundamental city services like drainage, traffic signalization and wastewater treatment.
- Build Green: Encourage all Houstonians to use alternative energy by using innovative new programs to equip homes and businesses with new technology.
- Green transportation: Enable people to pursue every opportunity to reduce tailpipe emissions. His “C.H.O.I.C.E.S. for Transportation” plan highlighted several methods of doing this, including a quality public transportation system, encouraging flexible work schedules, and providing incentives for carpooling and bicycle commuting.
- Green thinking in action: Strengthen Houston’s growing reputation as an environmental leader by expanding such initiatives as curbside recycling, improve air quality, water supply protection, etc.

Doesn't seem to have any "green" initiatives on his website or press releases – this is not to say that isn’t an important part of his campaign.
