With city officials expecting up to $12.1 million in stimulus money for energy-efficiency projects come August or early fall, San Antonio small businesses could benefit from assistance in replacing lighting with more efficient options. Other larger solar building projects could be on the docket as well, but few details have been released.
It's speculated to create an estimated 135 local jobs if contracting is done from within SA, a modest number but a start nonetheless.
One item that cannot be underestimated or understated is the importance of building buzz for local solar projects, something that could act as a snowball for future interest in expanding solar efficiency in the area and other areas across Texas.
